Regardless of how you ended up here, please accept our heartfelt condolences. We know this journey will be a difficult one for you. However, we are available to assist a mother and her family through any sort of birth, at any stage of pregnancy. Pregnancy and childbirth are both happy occurrences, yet the unexpected can happen at any time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you or a loved one is facing a miscarriage in any trimester, your baby has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, you are enduring a planned or unforeseen NICU stay, or you have had a stillbirth.  We understand the plethora of emotions that a family can experience, as well as the confusing maze of options that are provided to them. Please allow us to accompany you on this journey. You are not alone in your feelings. Simbi Animashaun, the Owner of The Doula Experience, LLC, is a mother of four angels and certified Birth & Bereavement Doula through StillBirthDay (SBD). She is ready to serve you!

Birth Journey Doula

What is a birth doula? A trained person who helps a client before, during, and right after childbirth with physical, emotional, and informational support to make sure the birth is as healthy and satisfying as possible.


What to expect............

Initial consultation

(2) 1-hour in-person (or virtual) prenatal support visits

Full-birth attendance

2 hours of postpartum care

Phone and text support for pregnancy and postpartum

(2) 1-hour in-person (or virtual) postpartum support visits

On-call 24/7 from 37-42 weeks 


Pricing: $1500 (12 weeks until birth)

What is a Bereavement Doula? 

A Bereavement Doula is a non-clinically trained support person who provides emotional, physical, and informational assistance to the mother and her partner. A particular emphasis is placed on preparing you for what to expect during your pregnancy, including voluntary termination, miscarriage, infant and child loss, and stillbirth. If feasible, physical and emotional assistance is provided during and after the birth of your baby. We will assist you with generating memories and treasured things for your infant. Clients receive complimentary Comfort Packages.

Bereavemen​t 

Services Include:

Assist clients with their physical and emotional needs.

Attend appointments.

Attend the birth/pregnancy loss with the client.

Will establish a holy space (music, lights, ceremony, smell, memories).

Will not regard this as "another shift" or "another loss."

Join hands and accompany the family on their journey.

Provide follow-up assistance in the coming weeks and months.

Provide customized resources and support groups.

We will assist you in creating memories and keepsake items for your infant.

Clients receive a complimentary Sympathy & Solace Comfort Box.

Weekly video conferences to discuss progress (60 minutes). You can choose how many sessions you want.

During the duration of the contract, you will have unlimited text or email contact.


Pricing: Packages are Available (Up to 8 weeks following your loss)

Pregnancy after Loss 

Services include:

Entire pregnancy and postpartum support.

Continuously offering emotional and physical support.

If requested, provide information and assist the mother in locating resources to research her birth options (before labor).

Utilizing comfort measures such as massage, recommending various positions, and assisting with relaxing breathing.

As much as possible, accommodating the mother's birth environment preferences (low light, soft music, etc.) at the place of birth.

Encouraging the mother to communicate with her physician and keep her informed of any procedures or interventions.

Assisting the father or birth partner is the most effective way to aid the mother.

Weekly video conferences on progress (60 minutes).

Unlimited texting and emailing during the contract period.
